Aggreko has introduced three Tier 4 Final diesel generators configured for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities at 600V, and Aggreko says the models are designed to meet and exceed local market needs and requirements. The company says these specific models will be available exclusively for Canadian contractors.
The generators incorporate Aggreko technologies intended to provide reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications while meeting Canadian market and regulatory requirements. All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, according to the company, to address electrical and fuel regulations in Canada.
Onboard 600V output
Aggreko highlights the 1200 kW model’s onboard 600V capabilities as a significant advantage. The direct 600V output is intended to eliminate the need for additional step-up transformers. According to the company, this reduces project complexity, improves cost-efficiency and minimizes potential points of failure. Aggreko says the benefit is particularly relevant for large industrial loads where 600V is frequently required.
Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said tailoring the company’s most advanced generators for Canadian customers underscores the importance of the market. He cited large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast and remote territories, as well as thriving construction and data centre sectors, as evidence of demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured. Nascimento said the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators pair Aggreko technologies with hardware tailored to Canadian operating requirements.
Deployment and applications
The 145 kW and 210 kW models are readily deployed canopy units for immediate energy needs, while the 1200 kW model is positioned for large industrial loads. The additions expand Aggreko’s Canadian fleet, which the company says offers solutions from 25 kW to 1200 kW.
Aggreko’s network of Canadian service centres will support customers in industries including data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events, deploying temporary power for a range of applications, the company says.
All three generators are described by Aggreko as providing industry-leading fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels, surpassing local requirements. Aggreko says the models are especially well suited to Canada’s expanding data centre industry. As provincial regulators look to limit how much power data centre operators pull from the grid, the company says its Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid energy needed to keep data centres operational with minimal disruption to communities.
