BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub’s Passport Hub platform, adding more than 850 charging points across over 95 locations to the North American roaming network.
The integration lets EV drivers find, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app. The chargers also become available to users of other e-mobility service providers and automakers connected to Passport Hub. The announcement did not specify how many of the points are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers, or whether all 850 are accessible through every Passport Hub partner.
Passport Hub is ChargeHub’s roaming platform, connecting charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers. It is intended to simplify public charging access by letting drivers use existing apps and services across multiple networks rather than registering separately with each charge point operator.
For BP Pulse, the agreement extends the reach of its North American charging network by making its infrastructure available through more third-party platforms. ChargeHub adds another charging network to its roaming ecosystem.
Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse’s VP of EV charging in the US, said the partnership expands access to the BP Pulse network through trusted roaming partners. He said charging networks working better together benefits the wider EV ecosystem and is an important step toward accelerating EV adoption.
ChargeHub CEO Simon Ouellette said a major network joining Passport Hub signals that the hub model has become the way roaming is done in North America. Because it is a hub, he said, the impact extends beyond the ChargeHub app: connected eMSPs and automakers can offer their drivers access to BP Pulse fast chargers through existing connections. When one major network joins, he added, the whole ecosystem improves at once.
