The UK contractor Mace Construct will be renamed Forco from the new year, the company has said, describing the new name as "short, impactful and easy to pronounce."
Mace Construct and Mace Consult became two separate businesses in March, under an agreement that Mace Consult would retain the Mace brand. The construction arm will keep trading under the Mace Construct name until the new year before moving to Forco.
The rebrand is to be unveiled together with a new corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030, according to the announcement.
Leadership sets out the ambition
Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said the business had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. In his statement, he said the new name represents a commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.
Reynolds said that while the name and brand are changing, the qualities that have made the business one of the UK's most respected contractors have not: its culture, its values and the people who have underpinned its success. Clients, he added, can expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.
The announcement did not set out further detail on what the new strategy or the productivity targets will contain.
