Philippine Airlines has selected IBS Software's cloud-based iCargo platform to replace its existing cargo system. The implementation is intended to support cargo operations across both domestic and international networks.

IBS Software said the platform will be applied to the airline's modernisation programme and will cover business functions across its cargo organisation. For international operations, iCargo is designed to handle customs reporting, settlement of duties and taxes, and regulatory compliance. The vendor said the same system already supports carriers with a similar combination of domestic and international requirements, giving it the flexibility and scale to manage both.

According to IBS Software, the transition is meant to address operational priorities including system performance and data analytics. The platform is expected to provide faster shipment processing, greater reliability and end-to-end shipment visibility while reducing manual intervention and supporting more efficient processes.

Jason Siy, Philippine Airlines' vice president for cargo business, described the initiative as an important step in modernising the carrier's cargo business. He said the airline needs a system that improves visibility and operational efficiency as it expands across its domestic and international network, and that iCargo is seen as a key enabler of its long-term cargo transformation strategy.

The announcement focused on the system selection and planned capabilities. It did not provide a timeline for implementation or financial terms.
